As a part of Her world tour, Amma visited Malaysia for the first time in the year 2002. Amma's presence drew overwhelming devotees and surprised both Amma's entourage and organizers alike. The first day programme was held at PGRM hall in Cheras and the following day at NUPW hall, Old Klang Road.

Both days witnessed huge turnouts, estimated around 30,000, much higher than the anticipated 10,000 by the organizers. Amma's programme on the 1 st day was in the evening and the second day, it was in the morning and evening which lasted till 6.00 am the next day.

In the year 2003, Amma's visit was cancelled in the 11th hour because of the SARS outbreak in a number of Southeast Asian countries.
